Anti-Oppressive & Relational Therapy for Youth, Adults, & Families
About Me, My Approach, & Specialties
Clients and their families describe me as knowledgeable and dedicated, attentive and affirming, understanding and direct, funny and open-minded.
My therapeutic approach is informed by harm reduction and disability justice principles, anti-capitalist, anti-carceral, anti-fascist, and anti-racist values, and deep care for and affinity with neurodivergent, disabled, queer, and trans people. I also draw on the tenets of non-coercive collaborative parenting, low-demand parenting, youth liberation, and family systems theory. I am a good fit for people of all ages who are invested in collective liberation, self-determination, and care about building towards justice and safety for all people.
Specialty areas: complex trauma recovery, chronic shame, self-harm and suicidal ideation, intergenerational trauma, neurodivergence (including autism, ADHD, AuDHD, PDA), disability and chronic illness, anxiety, OCD, and polyamory.
I am an integrative practitioner, using a combination of somatic noticing, mindfulness, relational, psychodynamic, cognitive, motivational interviewing, grief, and ancestral/lineage work.
No matter what brings you to seek therapy, you deserve a space where every part of you belongs.
I show up in session with nonjudgmental acceptance as we work together to understand and validate who you are, tend to your pain and needs with depth and care, and move towards your desires for your life and relationships. The therapeutic relationship is the most important part of therapy.
I have a Bachelor of Arts from Scripps College and a Master of Social Work (clinical concentration) from the University of Washington. My professional background spans nonprofit work and community organizing. I have five years of experience in clinical roles, most recently as a clinician with a boutique group practice focused on supporting queer, trans, and neurodivergent youth and their families.
Counselors practicing for a fee in Washington State must be registered with the Department of Licensing. I am an LSWAIC (Licensed Social Work Associate & Independent Clinical) #SC.61471518, NPI: #1417677022.
Background & Education
Services, Fees, Location, & Accessibility
I use the Green Bottle method of offering therapy on a sliding scale. This sliding scale structure is designed to accommodate clients with different financial means and levels of privilege. I do not ask for any financial information or justification and trust that clients will self-select the right range and fee for them.
I am not contracted with insurance companies at this time. One benefit of not relying on insurance is that we can prioritize your needs instead of the requirements of a mental health insurance system that can be harmful. However, using insurance is often a financial necessity. You may have out-of-network benefits as part of your insurance plan, which may reimburse you for part of my fee. I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to insurance after discussing the information that then gets shared with insurance.
Individual Therapy (ages 11+):
Tier A: $175-$200 (available slots)
Tier B: $150-$175 (available slots)
Tier C: $125-$150 (all slots currently full)
Tier D: $50-$125 (all slots currently full)
Family Therapy: $150 - $350
I provide therapy virtually and in-person in the Queen Anne neighborhood in a wheelchair accessible building with gender-neutral bathrooms.
Please note that I take ongoing precautions against COVID-19, including wearing a high-quality respirator (N95) at all times while meeting with clients in-person. I also run a Brisk Box kit in my office and have windows that I am happy to open for additional ventilation if requested.
I do not require that clients wear a mask to meet with me: however, my health policy states that “If you are positive for COVID-19, have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or have any symptoms of any contagious or respiratory illness, you must either (1) cancel your appointment; or (2) switch to a telehealth appointment.”
Contact Me
During our free 15-20 minute consultation call, which can take place virtually, over the phone, or in person, I’ll ask questions to get a sense of what brings you to seek therapy, past experiences with therapy, and what you’re looking for in a provider. It’s all about the vibe: do we click enough to try things out?
I’m open to any questions you may have during an initial call - or just show up, and I’ll facilitate.
